Story
Going to Edinburgh is something that I’ve have been thinking about trying to do for quite some time. The festival itself is the number one international arts festival. Many famous artists have appeared at the Festival and indeed, still do. Many professional actors were ‘discovered’ at the Festival. For me, though, it is about creating opportunity. As a young actress I didn’t ever get an opportunity as big as going to the Fringe. My opportunities and work came after I had graduated from Mountview Theatre School and that very first professional job I secured, brought with it lots of very quick learning curves! So if we can create an opportunity of ‘dipping your toe’ into the world of professional touring – then why not?! Yes, it means a lot of hard work and yes, it means parents and family will have to support a very exciting and interesting journey – but one that will, if nothing else, enhance, enrich and create wonderful life-long memories for our company of young people. The Enigma company have £7000 to raise to enable them to take their production to Edinburgh. I am going to try and loose at least 4 stone in weight as a fundraiser and to help my own health! 4-stone-4-Edinburgh. In a world that's full of strife and anguish and a lot of young people suffering stress and Mental health issues, we are creating an opportunity for a group of young people - it won't rock the world - but it certainly will enhance their lives for the better. Thank-you for reading and giving your support however small that may be - we really appreciate it.
