In honesty, I am struggling physically and mentally to "get back out there" so I thought what better way to help myself than to make a commitment and try and raise some funds for a worthwhile community cause. So I am aiminng to walk a mile and a half per day and reach 50 miles.

Thankfully, I survived a life threatening illness in July last year. However, just as I was getting about again, Covid 19 struck. I was forced to shield, just a short walk with our dog allowed. No family or friends. Then just before our lockdown eased, we lost our beloved dog Ember, "my rock".through so many dark times over the years, my reason (not forgetting loved ones) to "get up and go". A week later I fractured my collar bone but am recovering.

I am not super fit, nor have a special talent so can not perform any major feats. However, I want to "give something back", help our supportive community, whilst along the way, try and get my husband out too where pain allows to help him get fit enough to get his new hips and knees. The cat has declined to put on a lead!

I appreciate there will be many of you out there fighting your own struggles and my thoughts are with you too.

Any support you can give would be greatly appreciated and help one of our lesser sung heroes continue their good work.
