My names Janina and I'm a Royal Navy veteran in need of help to raise funds to make adaptations to my home to make it easier to be independent and safer to do more things for myself at home. It'll be 5 years on Wed 15th August that I have been wheelchair bound after several years of pain discomfort, unable to work following a car accident in 2003 which ended my career in the Royal Navy. Things went down rapidly within 48hrs an emergency operation followed by a 2nd 7 weeks later I was left with a Spinal cord injury (SCI) which changed my life. Taking time to adjust to being in a wheelchair I met a wonderful man who I married 18 months ago. It's been a tough time this past year as my husband has been poorly with continuous migraines and a seizure which has made him to reduce from full time hours to part time hours. This has impacted as expected on finances which is why I'm hoping to seek help through my just giving page. I need to change my bathroom into a fully accessible wet room so I can have full independence to do everything myself when I need to instead of waiting for someone to help. Also to make adaptations to the kitchen to make it safer to get around, to cook and enjoy baking like I used to however to achieve this the costs are phenomenal an without help unachievable.
