Story
The Love Zimbabwe charity works within the Chinamhora community, near Harare in Zimbabwe. Working in partnership with the community, they have identified what they need to deal with the extreme poverty they’re experiencing, and provide them with basic standards of living and work. They are focusing on the areas of food production, health, education and sanitation in order to create sustainable living for the community within its natural environment and African culture. The charity and its volunteers have already done great things within the community, such as, building a community centre and introducing permaculture, giving lessons on how to maintain and sustain plantations as well as key information about how it is possible to grow a surplus of produce which the community can sell. The latest project is to build a library so that the community are able to read and educate themselves. I have been given a wonderful opportunity to volunteer in Zimbabwe next year to help carry on the great work within this community. As a great believer in the power of education, i am particularly interested in helping with the library project. I believe that everyone has the right to learn. I have set up this page because i require help raising some of the money needed to be able to participate in this amazing opportunity. I firmly believe in the work of the charity and they are helping the community to make real positive changes to their lives. Therefore, if you can spare even the smallest amount, it will make a real difference. If you would like more information, visit the love Zimbabwe website. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Janine
