I've raised £500 to raise money in remembrance of Jan Pitts, our dear friend,to help the Ville Shelter in Bacau, Romania. A cause close to Jan’s heart

Jan Pitts was a friend of mine, a very dear friend..... We met on Facebook through our mutual support of the Ville Shelter as part of the fundraising group and like many others Jan supported my fundraising efforts by buying raffle tickets to help the rescue dogs in the Ville shelter in Bacau...
One of the many things that made Jan such a wonderful person to celebrate, was her love and passion for helping the Ville rescue shelter. Jan loved all the dogs there but held a special place in her heart for the older dogs. Jan loved everything about helping Maria Manea and all the dogs. She shared many posts for many dogs to try and find them loving homes.
Tragically Jan died suddenly last week. Her funeral will be held on the 15th August at Worthing crematorium at 12.20pm, followed by a celebration of her life at The Amsterdam, Shoreham-by-sea.
Her family have decided that Jan would have liked for people to make donations in support of the Ville Shelter in lieu of flowers. There will also be a collection box on the day. The collection will go towards renovations and improvements at the shelter, to make their lives better.
For those who knew Jan on Facebook or who won't be able to attend the funeral, this just giving page is an opportunity to make a gesture in respect of Jan’s passion to help the dogs.... One of the many things about Jan that I remember was that, along with her caring and compassionate nature, she was a funny lady with a good sense of humour and she loved nothing more than a good laugh at some of the silly posts she would see on my page. We were all saddened and shocked to hear that she had passed suddenly and one of the ways I wanted to remember her was with a plaque on one of the shelters which we had raised funds for and thought that would be a lovely way to remember her. Another way would be to help Maria in Jan's honour.
In order give you an insight into the Ville shelter and what it achieves we need to go back to the beginning where it started 15 years ago with a lady named Maria Manea. She started by feeding local stray dogs and today looks after 450+ dogs in a purpose built shelter, which she started building 9 years ago and is still working on every day. She relies on donations to not only house the dogs but to feed them every single day and keep the shelter running.
The pictures below show what can be achieved with the right support
