I've raised £6000 to fund a school building in a rural part of Siem Reap, Cambodia

I may have caught up with some of you after my trip to Cambodia in April and told you about the plans for my next trip out there (Jan 2018). I have been speaking to a Headteacher (a Cambodian local) who has set up 4 charity based schools out in the sticks of Siem Reap. Prior to me contacting him, he had put together a proposal for how much it would cost to build a computer room for the students at one of the schools, which he was happy to share with me. I have been told that the kids do not have access to any computers/laptops and we all know the importance of having at least basic computer skills nowadays, even in countries like Cambodia. They do not have internet access where they are based but the aim is to firstly get this computer room built, then look at how we can help fund the purchase of laptops (several options here – buy and take over refurbished laptops, raise money to buy the laptops for them out there, etc) and then address the internet issue. But with the laptops alone, the kids can learn the basics of what a laptop does and how to use Word and Excel for example.
Spending time in the poor villages in April 2017 has been an eye opening experience and I would really like to be able to make a difference to the lives and future of these kids... and that’s where I reach out to you for support (£££) .
Most families in these villages only have $10 a month for food and they often run out of money part way through the month and live off very little for the rest of the month. Giving these kids a better chance at an education would mean a brighter future for them and their families. I hope we can all come together to make a difference to the lives of those less fortunate.
If you would like to donate towards this project, I would hugely appreciate it.
