    Story

My name is Jasmine, I’m a 17 year old Health & Social Care student at Nunthorpe Academy VI Form, and I also work part time for MFC at The Riverside Stadium.

In 2018 a group of my fellow students and I are going to Kenya and Tanzania in East Africa as part of The Meserani Project. I feel very lucky to have been given the educational opportunities that I have, however only one in nineteen children in Tanzania completes their Secondary education. This is due to school fees and extreme poverty in the Meserani area of Tanzania. The Meserani Project helps young African students to be able to complete their education, and over a number of years it has been responsible for building classrooms, providing vital books and equipment and funding children & young adults who haven’t been given the opportunities that my friends and I have.

The Meserani Project has official charity status and 100% of all money raised and donated goes directly into the work undertaken in Kenya and Tanzania. You can find out more about the history and great work that this project does by visiting www.meseraniproject.co.uk

I’m currently trying to raise £1000 to fund my trip to help the young people of Africa & am planning a series of fundraising events, to do this, which I will keep you all updated about on my campaign page. Anything that you can donate no matter how big or small will be of great significance. I know that with lots of hard work and support from the wonderful people and businesses within our local community, I can do this and make a REAL difference to young lives in Africa.

Thank you for helping to make a difference! Jasmine x x
