World challenge is a multinational organisation that provides young people with an opportunity to connect and immerse themselves in the culture of third world countries. As challengers, we will learn valuable life skills and be pushed out of our comfort zones. In 2018, myself and 15 other students from my school are visiting South India through World Challenge. Part of the programme includes individually fundraising £2450. This will not be a holiday, it is an opportunity to volunteer and help the less fortunate of those in the areas we will visit. We will pursue laborious tasks such as building wells, and other facilities that the community will highly benefit from. During the two week expedition we will be immersed in the new culture, engaging with the locals and bartering for our necessities. Our main focus, however, is with local schools where we will improve the conditions in which they learn and thrive in. Our contributions will hopefully help improve their learning experience. On this compassionate trip I have the chance to explore the world.
