Since 2014, Gumbo FM has provided a musical community stew; different people coming together via a love of music to help Sheffield causes.

Our 'Aim' is to entertain, engage and promote the interests of the local community in Sheffield through all platforms (online and digital)

Why do we need to raise money?

We want to continue to offer music event services to the people of Sheffield.
However, upkeep of equipment, petrol, electricity bills and studio/storage rent is only going up and up... currently up by 800%?!

What sort of help do we provide that needs your donation of money?

😊 If you run a Sheffield community festival: we want to provide the music for free.
😊 If you are a charity that needs funds: we can run a 24hr-DJ-athon live stream to raise money.
😊 If you want to share your music and stories to Sheffield and beyond: we will help you build your own radio show.

Background of Gumbo FM

Since 2014, We have never been confined to a few genre’s of music. We regularly collect new DJ’s and actively encourage new concepts/contributors every month…. GO! listen to the shows on our Mixcloud page!

Gumbo FM Objectives

*To be a popular, mainstream radio station, engaging with the local community through it's diverse and unique range of programming.

*To provide a platform for local charitable organisations, community and volunteer groups.

*To donate any excess money, after running costs, earned through advertising to Sheffield Charities.

*To support local business through affordable and cost effective advertising via all platforms.

*Promote local music alongside a mix of Classic Hits and diverse range of specialist programming.

*To provide the community the opportunity to be involved in every area of the radio station, in particular the disadvantaged and residents from all backgrounds.

*To provide a full and an unrivaled local radio service for Sheffield and the surrounding area.

How can Sheffield listen/interact with us?

Whether it is a local festival or weekly live radio shows - our aim is to be as accessable as possible. Why the name “Gumbo”?

We are contributing to a collective aim; helping Sheffield. Gumbo is a community stew; when you all come together and add one item to get a meal for ‘everyone’… ‘music’ is our contribution to the great Sheffield stew!
