    Story

I badly scalded my foot about a year ago, had skin grafts which worked very well. But unfortunately then developed osteomyelitis which destroyed the bones in my foot, leading to a right below knee amputation. In my flat I only have a bath which I can't use, so I can only wash at the sink. I need my whole bathroom altered, and especially have a shower fitted. A lot of my furniture is old, and quite low which makes transferring difficult. I just really need to overhaul my environment to make it more wheelchair friendly. I will eventually have a prosthetic, but will not be able to use it all the time due to the way the amputation has been done. My shin bone is very prominent and this makes wearing a prosthetic for long periods uncomfortable, and can lead to a brake down of the covering skin.
