Story
(Please note my previous fund raising page had closed without me knowing so I’ve had to create a new one, I can confirm the funds were at £645 so far! Please keep going) Thank you!
I started with Devon And Somerset Fire And Rescue Service in 2015, 10 years on I have had the opportunity to work with so many amazing people who have dedicated themselves and their family’s to serve and protect our communities every day!
I want to shout out that I've been selected as one of 343 UK firefighters heading to Atlanta this September. We will be climbing the equivalent height of the World Trade Center to honor the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and the 343 brothers and sisters lost that day.
To be completely clear, part of the funds raised will be used to cover the cost of taking part in the event, including travel, accommodation and entry fees. Any funds raised above the cost of the trip will be donated equally between The Firefighters Charity, The Blue Light Foundation and the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund.
These charities provide vital support to firefighters and other blue light services and their families, including physical and mental health support, rehabilitation, and financial assistance during times of hardship. They are an essential resource for our blue light colleagues, serving firefighters, retired colleagues and their families.
As well as this fundraising page, I will be taking part in fundraising events to raise as much money as possible for the event and the charities it will benefit. By supporting this fundraiser, you are helping me represent Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service at an international memorial event, while also directly supporting charities that look after our own when they need it most.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
