Story

A short while ago we had a real shock with Danny (my little boy). We found a lump the size of a potato on his knee which turned out to be a benign tumour. Luckily, he has come through the treatment (surgery) very well and on the road to recovery.

Thanks to all the hospital teams (Wythenshaw and Gobowen) for keeping him calm and relaxed through a very stressful and alarming time.

The reason behind this is even though the staff at Starlight Kids ward at Wythenshaw hospital did an amazing job, and continue to do so with every child that comes though their doors, I realised that there funding is extremely low. When you look at different things especially there outside areas for the children.

I want to help a little to make the children more comfortable and relaxed like the hard work the staff do. Also, I want to raise money to help the charity's that help children with these awful diagnosis, as people like us go though these things extremely fast.

So I'm asking for donations to get to my goal inturn I'm also going to do the below the help raise awareness.

Many people who know me, know I have always loved running long distances and just over 18 months ago I hung my running shoes up forever (due to bad knees and ankles).

However, for one last time and one time only I'm wanting to take the running shoes off the hooks and prepare my doddgy bones and run one more time.

So on the 17th October I will run the Manchester half marathon (I would love to do a full marathon as it is my passion but not sure I would even get my old bones even 3/4 the way round plus Julie would kill me for trying after knowing what I went through last time.)

Thank you for taking the time to read my story I hope you are able to help me raise and show awareness and also for your support and hopefully I'll see some of you on the 17th to cheer me on. Love to you all
