Story
Jayden is 2 years old. He is a beautiful loving determined little boy.
From the age of 7 months we knew there was something different about him, he was rigid and unable to sit, even as a baby it was difficult to wind him, and he never appeared to relax when he slept.
As time went by he fell behind in his milestones and was a lot 'slower' than his 3 older siblings. Just after his 1st birthday it was noticed that he was still unable to sit up, his health visitor suspected scoliosis.following more tests it became apparent that Jayden has Cerebral Palsy. He has undergone over a year of physiotherapy to stretch his tendons and muscles. Over the last year Jayden has fell behind with his other development due to being unable to sit. So he couldn't play with his hands and learned coordination very slowly.
At one stage we were told Jayden would probably never crawl or be able to sit unaided. Well he proved them wrong & now thanks to a muscle relaxant and pain relief he is able to crawl. But is only able to sit unaided for seconds at a time.
Due to the displacement of his hip he sits on the base of his spine which in turn is causing him to compensate with his neck and shoulders. His body is slowly bending into a 'C' shape, there fore correct seating is vital to his growth.
The problem I am having is that I drive a small car and he not only needs a specially adapted car seat but more space to allow room for his mobility equipment. It is becoming extremely difficult to get him in and out of the car and in turn makes it harder to get him out and about to enjoy day to day outdoor activities that most 2 year olds do.
Jayden walks with a limp due to his hip, knee and ankle position, the tightness of his limbs & can experience a lot of pain so can only walk short distances.
So with the summer holidays coming up it would be amazing to be able to take him on days out but I cannot do this at the moment and this where I am asking for help.(Which is not something ever done before)
