Story

Mikelle Louise Hardy-Ingham, a 16 year old beautiful, brilliant talent with so much creativity and passion. Tragically we lost Mikelle very recently, 3 days after her parents wedding, 2 days after completing her final GCSE and on fathers day this year. Mikelle sadly took her own life and was found in bed by her father, 3 younger siblings and nan, but it was too late to save her, however, we are determined to ensure her short life was not in vain. Mikelle was caring, funny, compassionate, loyal and always there for others. She was a popular DJ on a local radio station with a passion for music. She was a song writer for local band 'falling off a horse. A published poet and passionate writer who would spend hours theorising about the impossibility of existence! Mikelle suffered with her own mental health from a young age, giving her the determination to help others when there was no one else they could turn to. She became a mental health ambassador at her school, Torquay Girls Grammar. Duruig her GCSE course, she took another student, who was suffering from her own mental health problems, under her wing and supported her, this spurred Mikelle on to ensure she could have a positive impact on other young people. Only weeks before her passing she presented a bid to the local council to secure a £400 bursary to create a magazine designed to support young people with their mental health, with the intention of all proceeds being donated to the charity MIND. We are determined to continue Mikelle's legacy and honor her by ensuring her vision can continue. Please help so Mikelle can be remembered for the wonderful young person she was.
