Back in May 2017 my step daughter was taken into emergency foster care and eventually came to live with us permanently at the begining of June. 2 weeks later i was woken by my youngest daughter screaming her bedroom was on fire, my oldest daughter and myself ran down the stairs to find Grace sitting on the garage roof hysterical. All i could see was her bedroom window getting blacker and blacker, as I pulled her off the roof, her bedroom window blew out with a force, caused by the fire, thankfully the rest of my family managed to escape unharmed. Tragically our boxer was trapped in the fire and couldn’t be saved. Grace lost everything in the fire and was left only with the pijamas that she was wearing, stupidly we didn’t have contents insurance, but over time we have replaced all of her personal belongings. Me, my partner and the children have all recieved councelling for post traumatic stress and are thankfully settled in a new home. After the past traumatic year, i would love to take my faniky on holiday, my step daughter has never been on an aeroplane before and I would love in the summer holidays to take her away for the first time
