Story

My lovely, kind, gentle, unassuming Dad wanted to donate his body to science. In his words: "It was his way of giving back and helping Doctors learn about rare conditions." It was his way of thanking them for saving his life when he was born. Despite our best efforts and the efforts of our lovely friends who are Doctors, we were not able to fulfil Dad's wish but we have a nice and very fitting alternative.

Having spoken to a lady at Liverpool University which is where Dad would have gone, we are able to donate money to the Human Anatomy Resource Centre. HARC is a dedicated facility for the teaching of human anatomy over a range of undergraduate curricula, alongside offering postgraduate and continued professional development (CPD) courses. HARC plays a central role in the Anatomy and Human Biology BSc (Hons) course which was recently ranked 1st in the country in the Guardian League table, and is one of only a few degree programmes to offer human dissection to undergraduate students.

Any money raised will go towards the training of Doctors and any equipment that they need. The lady I spoke to was quite overwhelmed with the offer and we are sure Dad would be pleased we are able to do something that was very close to his heart.

Thank you for any contribution, no matter how small, to this cause xx
