I've raised £25000 to help Jay achieve the best future possible. He certainly deserves it. ♥️

Story

On the 17th November 2020 our lives changed forever.
My fit and healthy 39yr old husband Jay had been at home for a few days suffering from what seemed to be flu. By Tuesday evening, he worsened and had a rash so we called 999.
By 10am the following morning Jay was in an induced coma, on life support with multiple organ failure. Sepsis. He was in Septic shock and even with the maximum amount of drugs, his blood pressure just wasn't rising.
This led to him sustaining considerable damage to his limbs.
After multiple tests, we were told that Jay was suffering with pneumonia alongside 2 infected heart valves. His body couldn't cope with the level of infection he had, which is why his organs had started to fail. The outlook for my amazing husband wasn't good. By far the worst days of my life.
The staff at Treliske Hopsital in Cornwall did their very best for Jay and stabilised him until they were able to transfer him to The Royal Brompton in London for life saving heart surgery.
He wasn't well enough to have the operation, the cardiac surgeons took a big risk and for that I'm eternally grateful.
Jay was in a coma throughout all this and luckily, fought his way back to us through the dark.
He returned to Treliske Hospital after a month in London.
Being in ICU for so long caused dramatic muscle and weight loss, which makes recovery slow. But he's been well looked after by our amazing NHS staff along the way.
Jay has now been transferred again, this time to Salisbury Hospital, specialist plastic surgery unit. This is to have his lower legs amputated and surgery on his arms to hopefully recover some hand function.
Soon he will begin his long and hard journey of rehabilitation.
Jay will understandably require some help in the future and some adaptions to our home to help him be independent.
A wet room, stairlift, wheelchair and prosthetics, amongst other things.
We as a family would be so grateful for any help along the way.
Thank you so much for your support xx
