Dear Sir and R/V/W/Brother,

After over thirty years of a fulfilling UK Masonic Career, W.Bro. JC Patel decided to retire to Goa, India in 2011. Life in Goa was good but there was something missing so it was my privilege to be accepted as a member of the Gomantak Lodge No. 248 in Goa (Consecrated on 20-11-1982).

I have thoroughly enjoyed my membership, the wonderful Brethren, jovial atmosphere but have been very aware of the commitment to the true principles of our esteemed Brotherhood, wider Lodge fraternity, local
communities and charities.

My message here is simple but long lasting. As a committee member of a newly formed Lodge Gomantak Temple Trust (Build), we have a dream, to build our own temple. 10 years ago, this dream saw light with the laying of the Foundation Stone in the North East Corner of the plot. Due to unforeseen issues, the project stalled this year, however we now have the Town and Country Planning Department’s approval and are at commencement of construction. Foundation stone has been laid.

Brethren, we now require funds to build our Temple. Our budget for the total build is approximately INR 7,500,000 (INR 75 Lakhs), approximately £85,000 at current exchange rates. My target is to raise £8500 to the overall project. We have collected £580 in our first phase.

I am sure the benefits will be felt long into the future, not only for the current Brethren but those visiting from far and wide. The Temple will also serve as a place for local people to enjoy the facilities long into the future.
We have sought Grand Lodge approval for 50% funding of the project and are confident of its success.

So, my UK Brothers, will you help me make our dream a reality?
