I've raised £250 to The Renal Unit at Monklands Hospital

Hi everyone,
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.
For the third year running, we have organised a charity cycle and charity night for the purpose of raising funds for the Renal Unit within Monkland's hospital.
In February of this year, after years of suffering from kidney disease which had seen her kidney function drop to below 15%, she received a call from Edinburgh Royal Infirmary; a kidney and pancrease had finally become available. 24 hours later and after a 10 hours plus operation, the transplant had been completed. My mum no longer has kidney disease and with the pancreas transplant, too, was no longer diabetic.
Four months later, she's still regularly visiting the hospital for check-ups and assessments, but so far, the transplant has been a huge success; my mum's quality of life has improved massively.
Renal disease and failure are very complex conditions which, for my mum, involved frequent hospital visits and daily medication in addition to daily dialysis which, following initial surgery, invoved large amounts of equipment at home and a daily clensing through the machine.
The time, effort and support given to my mum by the doctors, nurses and staff in the Renal Unit at Monklands hospital throughout her wait for a transplant was outstanding. Theyve made a difficult situation as easy as possible.
In return and even with my mum having received her transplant, we want to raise money which will go directly to the unit and it's patients, to assist with necessary financial support and to allow them to continue to offer additional services, such as kids patients' parties. All for a good cause.
Thanks very much in advance - any donation will be welcome and more than appreciated.
Jonathan.
