Story
On 22nd June 2023, we are hosting our second annual charitable cycling event to help support two amazing charities – Dementia UK and Happy Days Children’s Charity.
Dementia UK is a specialist dementia nurse charity. Dementia UK nurses provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia – including Alzheimer’s disease. The nurses have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems. As dementia specialists, Admiral Nurses help families manage complex needs – considering the person living with dementia and the people around them – and they can advise other healthcare professionals. They help people living with dementia to stay independent for longer and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days.
Happy Days Children’s Charity, located in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, provides day trips and short breaks to some of the most vulnerable families. Founded in 1992, the charity helped around 170,000 children with mental and physical disabilities, life limiting conditions, children who have been abused and young carers between the ages of three and seventeen. The organisation works with local communities across the UK and helps families and groups by organising and funding special days such as trips to the seaside, theatres, zoos, museums, outdoor activity centres, sporting events and other educational and cultural activities.
Every penny donated will go straight to our charities mentioned above. Additionally, JCA will match all the donations raised by the riders!
