Story
We are having a 24 hour Spin-A-Thon to raise as much as we can to support little Anna Rainey and her parents, please donate! Even £1, every penny counts.
In August 2022 Anna was diagnosed with Craniopharyngioma, a benign Brain Tumour. Anna spent 4 weeks in RBHSC undergoing steroid treatment, an endoscopic aspiration of craniocyst and a VP shunt insertion. Anna then travelled to Liverpool for transsphenoidal surgery to remove the tumour. During the surgery, the unthinkable happened. An instrument got stuck in the tumour cavity causing a bleed in the brain. Surgeons worked to stop the bleed resulting in loss of blood supply to the upper mid brain area and the cerebellum. Anna was fighting for her life. But, Anna is a fighter. She can no longer move, eat, communicate, control body functions, regulate her hormones or temperatures. Anna's parents continue to live in hospital. Anna's family home needs to be adapted so she can return home. She needs a wheelchair vehicle so she can be transported. Anna needs a specialised school suitable for her needs. Anna needs around the clock care.
Thank you very much to everyone taking part and donating. You are all helping.
