Story
Jed is a nine year old boy who happens to have triplegic spastic cerebral palsy. We are fund-raising to provide some intensive physio and equipment to build Jeds strength after having a Baclofen pump fitted back in September 2017. The pump releases muscle relaxant around his body continually. Meaning he can move easier and is in much less pain but this has meant that Jed is very weak and needs to work on the muscles that have been hidden by spacticity.
Jed was born full term 37 minutes after his twin brother Logan. He was breech with the cord around his neck. Which starved his brain of oxygen. Resulting in a very poorly baby. At 3 weeks old we were told the devastating news that Jed would have cerebral palsy. Jed would most likely never walk, or be independent. Here we are 9 years later and they were right. Jed can't walk and he has very limited use of his right arm. He needs help with every aspect of his care. Except eating and building lego! Jed is very good at both of those. His left arm thankfully is fully functioning and you would never win an arm wrestle with him!!
Jed is a smart, charming and outgoing boy who attends mainstream school. We are so proud of the boy he has become. Life is hard for him but every day he strives to do his best with a huge smile on his face.
So this is where you come in......
What we are asking is for you to donate £2 (or £4!!) via Jed's Just giving page and then share Jed's page with all your friends, encouraging them to donate a £2 also. Then they can share with their friends. Who can share with their friends and then their friends etc etc...... You can see what we are trying to achieve here.
If you can do this, we all thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Jed's daddy is planning to run a half marathon at then end of the year to raise extra funds. I might even complete a 10k!
Thank you again for taking the time to read about about Jed!

4 years agoWe still have some of the money left from our last fundraising push. Because of your generosity Jed has a beautiful Bed which has made so much difference to his independence and comfort. He also had a course of physio at a local physio centre and a lady also came to our house did physio. His weekly swimming is funded by your amazing donations and so will horse riding once the weather is better. But not enough is left in the pot to fund an accessible bathroom. As I am sure you are aware nothing come cheap in the adaptive equipment world 💚

4 years agoHello everyone. [for full update! Please head over to Jed’s Facebook page. Jed’s £2 project] It’s been a while I know. Our biggest project right now is that our new house doesn’t have an accessible bathroom. To help fund this Jed’s dad, John is running his first full marathon in Southampton on the 26th of April 2020. His training is in full swing. Any money raised will be split evenly between Jed’s £2 Project and Home-Start North West Hampshire. A charity very close to our hearts and supported us when the boys were tiny 💚
