Maluku is one of the poorest and least educated provinces in Indonesia. Bahasa Basudara C.I.C provides free online English (also German, Dutch and French) courses to people in Maluku so that those who are economically disadvantaged and living in remote areas will have access to foreign language courses.

On the 2nd of October I will be running the London marathon to raise money for Bahasa Basudara. This will be followed by running the Amsterdam Marathon on 16 October. As you may know this is very close to my heart as I helped found Bahasa Basudara and am passionate about helping bring language courses to those in Maluku who otherwise would not have access to foreign language tutors.

Despite dodgy knees I have been training for the marathons whilst also seeking treatment for the arthritis in my knees which has made the target of dual marathons in one month an even greater challenge to aspire to. I will be giving it my all and trying my best to complete both marathons, health permitting. This will be running with "heart" and not so much with "muscle", so wish me luck.
