Story

The ‘Thursdays Trust ‘in partnership with Abergavenny Town Football Club and the Abergavenny U3A are looking to raise £4,000, to install a new heating system at Pen-y-Pound Stadium, Abergavenny.

Who will benefit from this crowd funding?

The club is regularly used by the 150 plus retired members of the U3A, 2-3 times a week. The football section has 50 senior members, as well as supporters. The football club have a thriving junior section, consisting of players aged 6-18 years old. We also have a ‘ladies’ football section, that use the club weekly.

Our aim is to open the club up, to invite the community in, with the potential to start other clubs or organisations, such as a ‘table tennis’ club, ‘darts section’, ‘pool section’ as well as advertising the club for general hire at a very low cost.

Why do we need crowd funding?

The central heating system is out dated and not fit for purpose. Our members are cold, our retired members of U3A will soon have to vacate the building, should the heating system not be replaced and our children footballers and families can’t take full advantage of the club house, due to the inept heating system, which just doesn’t heat the building.

Our aims.

This project would be part of a larger plan going forward to overhaul the whole of the building.

The plan is to update the club and make it available for the whole of the community of Abergavenny to use.

Please support this crowd funding venture, supporting your community.
