Story
On the 29/2/20 at 13.11, Thomasina Rose Moore was born. Not only was she born on a special day but at 13.15, her twin sister Jemima Daisy was born sleeping.

With the excitement of going to our 15-week scan, & also the addition of finding out we would be expecting twins, emotionally, words couldn't describe how we felt but within minutes of being informed of this unbelievable news, we were also told that twin 2 was not looking "normal".
Jemima was diagnosed with a rare & serious illness called Edwards syndrome, which is when a baby has 3 copies of chromosome number 18 instead of 2. This affects the way the baby grows & develops during pregnancy & is a life-shortening illness.
We were told that this little baby would pass away around week 16. Amazingly she kept fighting until week 31.
To go through the emotions of the excitement of your firstborn & minutes later dealing with the breathless feeling of the death of your child is something that can't be put into words.
Due to being premature & also having a low blood sugar level, Thomasina spent 11 days in the neonatal unit. Thankfully, we were able to spend time saying our goodbyes to Jemima whilst staying in the bereavement unit.
This just giving page is set up to help raise money to improve the much-needed bereavement suite at Queen Alexandra hospital Portsmouth, as well as raising money for Naomi House Hospice.
Many parents will go through the heartache of what we went through & sadly theirs may be a lot worse.
To be able to stay in the bereavement unit to help come to terms with your thoughts & feelings, made things feel slightly easier and private.
We ask you to help raise these funds to bring awareness of this syndrome by donating as much as you can possibly part with.
We thank you in advance
