I've raised £2000 to help fundraise for Jemima's expedition to Madagascar. I will be working on communal development there, e.g. water and sanitation schemes.

Story

Manao ahoana! Its Jemima.

Please help me fundraise for my scouting expedition to Madagascar in 2019. Madagascar is the 9th poorest country in the world, yet has a rich, colourful and mixed culture, along with perhaps the most bio-diverse environment and wildlife on earth. I am not going there for a holiday, but rather to help develop communities, creating better opportunities for young people and families, and aiding the local scouting organisations. These are issues I care deeply about. Along with my team, we hope to build the foundations of a "Malagasy Gilwell" (Gilwell Park is the HQ for The Scout Association). Besides this we hope to build other essentials that will improve quality of life in Malagasy communities, such as working toilet blocks. We will also be planting trees, helping out with local agriculture, and assisting with fundamental water and sanitation education schemes. My scouting team will be working with the Tily Malagasy Scouting association to further develop connections between Malagasy Scouting and UK Scouting, not to mention international scouting too. In Madagascar scouting is immensely popular, due to the fact that it provides many disadvantaged young people there with life changing support, skills and opportunities. In order to do all of this, I need to fundraise £3000, however £2000 is my target, as I will also be getting creative through other forms of fundraising too. It would really make a difference to me, and the whole Malagasy community, if you could get involved by making a donation. £5-£10+ will go a long way in Madagascar. Misaotra be!
