Hi and thank you so much for viewing my page as you can see from the title of my just giving page I am trying my hardest to make a disabled girl's dream a reality this young lady has touched my heart she is 24 years old born with a life long medical condition called congenital adrenal hyperplasia what is CAH you might ask well - Its The adrenal gland that sits above each kidney - one on each side of the body. It is made up of a medulla (middle) which makes adrenaline - this part works perfectly normally in CAH. The outer part of the adrenal gland is the adrenal cortex which makes three main hormones called steroids. These steroids are secreted into the blood stream and are necessary for normal health. It is the adrenal cortex and its hormones which are involved in CAH. There is an awful lot to this condition then people think Toni has classic CAH which is this one In the most severe type of CAH aldosterone is completely lacking and loss of salt from the body is the most prominent problem - salt losing CAH accounts for 80% of children with CAH. The loss of salt in the urine is uncontrolled and can cause acute dehydration, very low blood pressure and vomiting. The levels of salt (sodium and chloride) and sugar (glucose) fall in the blood, and the potassium level rises. This is an 'Adrenal Crisis' needing very urgent treatment as a potentially life threatening condition. Toni hasn't had life easy aged 10 she found out she was put up for adoption by a lady she thought was her auntie unfortunately it was her biological mum this lady had a child born before Toni which she kept then there was Toni who she gave up for adoption and then a child born 2 years after Toni so you cant begin to imagine her heartache at this aged 14 she lost her biological dad on new years day 2008 Toni found him dead in bed and tried her best to revive him sadly this couldn't be done his death was a result from diabetes and heart disease she was very close to her dad she never really got over this her biological mum has continued to cause trouble for Toni through the years .

Toni's health isn't so good at the moment as a result of CAH and the terrible side affects to this condition Toni's body is producing to much testosterone for the past 8 years sadly this has resulted in rapid hair growth from head to toe which being female shouldn't happen Toni now suffers with severe depression and anxiety because of this the doctors cant seem to control it her I think it is when the 11-beta hydroxylase deficiency or 21 hydroxylase levels are so high Toni was told her ideal level should be 3 sadly hers is 200 way above what it should be .

This condition due to the steroid treatment can make the bones go brittle and weak Toni found out her spine is smaller than what it should be so it's possible her bones are starting to become weak and brittle already .

This poor girl has been through hell with her health and personal life her biggest dream is to have a motorhome so she can go travelling with her mum make memories and have many happy holidays away and just to be able to escape whenever she wants I want to try and help this girl I think she truly deserves this put a smile on her face .
