    Story

Thank you so much for all the support we have had for my amazing brave niece. To people who don't even know Laila and have donated, and to people who just want to come forward to offer there services for her birthday, and to family and friends you are all truly amazing xxx THANK YOU

She has been through cardiac surgery, which involved breaking her chest bone and putting her on heart/lung machine, and fixing her heart. Brave Laila is now out of intensive care (having spent 23hours there) her first words when she woke up was " is my heart fixed now" Lots of happy tears from all of us, after and long wait to be told the surgery went well, surgeons also found a second hole which they didn't know about and managed to patch both of them up.

She is now in high Dependency Unit where she is recovering well. We have been sent many videos of her slowly recovering, scared to move her head with the pain, and looking so sad. To recent videos of her smiling because she ate a sandwich to her walking down the corridor, and her being so proud of herself because she did it !!!!!

She is truly so brave and heart wrenching to watch a 5 year olds girl go through this, when she should be out enjoying the sunshine. But also so thankful because she is going to be ok and to our NHS and the amazing surgeons who helped her.

This appeal is for her 6th birthday party and to fill Laila with the joys of family days out and all the treats she deserves , and all the dreams she deserves when she is fully recovered. Unfortunately her birthday party she was so longingly looking forward too, will have to be cancelled as she wont be well enough to enjoy it. When she is fully recovered we want her to have the best memorable day she could ask for.

If you can find anything to make my nieces recovery any better it would mean the world to her and our family xxx
