I've raised £1000 to get little Izzy to the UK and to help Harbin SHS and Rushton

Dress up for dogs! Raising money for little Izzy, Harbin SHS, and Rushton
Over the Easter weekend 2024, I'll be dressing up for dogs - a different dog-themed outfit all day for 4 days - and going about my every day business like that!! Here's why...
Harbin SHS and little Izzy
Harbin SHS is dedicated to rescuing the animals that end up in China's meat markets. Based in the north-eastern Chinese city of Harbin, where the team estimates around 30,000 dogs and cats are slaughtered each week, Harbin SHS was set up in 2016 by Emily, Aimee and Hayley, three ex-pat woman from England, Australia and Ireland, to help save dogs from the horror of the meat trade. They also support animals who have suffered other abuse, abandonment, and neglect.
We are in the process of adopting little Izzy, a corgi collie cross from Harbin SHS, who has been through alot in her life so far. I’m in genuine awe of what the team does and I’d love to be able to raise the final bit of Izzy’s plane ticket, and as much as we can on top of that for the rescue’s work to help save more dogs (cats and other animals).
And then there's Rushton...
I’d also like to be able to donate a bit to Rushton Dog Rescue in Somerset, who have also rescued many dogs from China, including our late Hopey Myles who was saved from the meat trade. If you've followed any of Hope's story, you'll know what a gentle, beautiful soul she was.
Rushton provide a safe haven on their farm, near Langport, for dogs rescued here and overseas - dogs who wouldn’t be able to live anywhere else because of the abuse they have suffered at the hands of people there are no words for! They also rehome to five star families.
Thanks so much for your support. It means the world to the animals, to the rescues, to little Izzy and to me. Watch out on Thursday 28th, Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday for some interesting dog-dressing up and to see how I get on.
I'll share it all on Instagram @somersetcool.
I don't know if we'll get anywhere near this target, but by 'dressing up for dogs' let's give it a damn good go! :)
