I am trying to raise funds towards a specialized car seat for my six year old son Lucas. Lucas suffers from an extremely rare neurological condition called Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood, in which he has episodes of partial or full body paralysis These attacks can last for minutes, hours, days or even weeks. Unfortunately there is no pattern to these episodes and a multitude of triggers which can set them off, some of which are everyday things, that to other people wouldnt be an issue but literally limit Lucas so much for example wind, bad weather, bright lights, water (bath & shower) sun, certain foods, loud noises, crowds. AHC has already taken so much away from my little boy, during his worst episodes he can not access the top floor of our home due to me physically not being able to lift him and without this car seat he will eventually loose the ability to go out whist in episode :(

Lucas was diagnosed with AHC in May 2012 and since he has progressively got worse, his health (ahc) is at the worst its ever been, his episodes are happening on a daily to weekly basis and the most difficult part is i never know how much of my boy ill loose this time around, the uncertainty of AHC is probably the hardest part of it all. I have come so close to loosing my son more times than id like to remember, so i want to make every single day of our lives count, getting this car seat would broaden our horizon, allowing us to travel anywhere we want to safely making more memories for my beautiful little boy.
