Story

Anyone who knew alison will know she was the life and soul of the party, she had a impecable sense of humour unmatched that only she could get away with, she held everyone together and was the main character in our lives.

myself (alisons daughter) spent lockdown isolating with my mum at home, we would watch the tv documentries of everyone in hospital fighting, we clapped every thursday for the NHS and we had long chats about how crazy times were.

one thing alison always said was “Id hate to be in that position my heart goes out to them all fighting this“ she followed every lockdown did as she should have and still cheered everyone up by sending letterbox presents to her family.

We got through the difficult times celebrated the new year had the most amazing christmas and she celebrated hard for her 50th birthday. we started to go out and do more “normal” things as everywhere opened again, visiting family, days out, calvery for tea on a sunday, walks on the beach, and shopping trips. I seen it as if we were coming to an end of covid and that life was going back to normal. Never did I think that now my mum would catch this horrible illness

On the 9th july 2021 after me and my mum both isolating together covid positive i woke up to her struggling for her breath and looking very poorly, I rang an ambulance who came and took her in for what we all thought would be a couple of nights in hospital with some oxygen help.

we text each other as and when she was able to, she wasnt missing the euros for nothing! She had the nurse set up an ipad next to her bed so she could watch the match!

a few days later they made the desicion to put her to sleep on a ventilater which is the treatment she needed to get better, we were all worried but knew she was in the best care her last message to me was “im scared please pray i get well in a couple of days I love you jen”

while she was asleep we had an online diary that was wrote in daily by her family so she could see what had gone on while she was asleep. So much happened that we couldnt wait to tell her about. I passed my driving test, her neice turned 5, england lost the euros, and so much more.

those couple of days turned into weeks after weeks, phone calls several times a day updating us with how she was doing, some days were better than others. no one was allowed to visit her until her 7 week fight came to an end. We got the phone call 2 of us could go in. two of alisons children visited and held her hand, she was fighting as hard as she could but unfortunatly her organs started to fail, a couple of days later we got the call that we needed to get there as soon as possible. The closest family flew down the moterway and got to her side, Alison waited for us and passed 5 minutes after we had been with her, she lost her battle at 3:40pm on Saturday 14th August. Her favourite day of the week with her loved ones by her side.

this is a difficult time for all of the family. Alison and her daughter lived together in leyland and is now faced with the loss of their home due to tenancy rights, I was never prepapred to be moving out and starting up on my own at 19 without my mum.

thankyou for your kind gestures
