    Story

You'd think that a heart condition, 2 miscarriages, depression and anxiety, a broken neck, 3 bike accidents, 1 broken foot and a rear-ender from a sports car was enough to deal with for a young family....but apparently not.
As my husband, Martin's heart palpitations began to become more uncontrollable many investigations were planned. In 2016 an mri on the brain ( done due to tunnel and blurred vision) found a tumour on the right side of his brain. And a ct scan of his heart area found a lesion to be confirmed as lung cancer of incidental finding. Neither exactly what we were thinking about at his age of 50 and mine 37, with no symptoms.
After surgery to have 1/2 a lung out at guys hospital. (The brain tumour is slow growing at the moment and is to stay in place). Life now is completely different - nothing like the booklet said! It became very apparent he wasn't getting better after 6 months. He was still struggling to breath and could only walk short distances. His heart condition was re-diagnosed and now needed new medication. He has developed oesophagitis grade d and hiding underneath that was a hiatus hernia. To top it off he now has severe back pain that seems to be degenerative but is still being investigated. On the same scan showed 2 ribs with small lesions to continue to review..
Its all something you wouldn't wish on anyone. Theres appointments most months and hes in pain all the time. We're just waiting to see which illness kicks off next.
Our lovely families have helped us out financially but we all thought everything would be back to normal before now. This just wasn't the case.
Weve exhausted all avenues and theres no where else to go. We'd like to stay in our house. I want him to stay at home and be stress free about paying trying to pay the mortgage as he has treatment and he wants me and the girls to have a roof over our heads.
Obviously we would use the money to pay the rest of the mortgage enabling the main focus to be calm and not stress.

After new mri's on martins back and neck the results conclude he has slipped discs in both areas. One in the lower lumbar and one between c8 and t1 compressing the nerve root. Causing the pain and numbness in his arm and hand. Its like going round in a 15 year cycle! Back to kings college London. But not as an emergency it seems, a referral, back for a triage then another referral. Ridiculous. Its already been 3 months.

Martins shoulder pain has now become unbearable. Pain shooting down to his hand and numb fingers, we visit the gp. Feeling like a mix of nerve and dull pain its hard to take something thats gonna kill the pain. Pain management gave him an appointment for November for his back without even knowing what wrong with it! Ridiculous! Chest ct and back mri to follow hopefully we'll finally get clear answers after a year - so frustrating.

His backpain now is becoming constant and unbearable. Seeming to affect his balance and leg strength it seems impossible just to be debilitating?? Its not muscle and its not osteo. I see missed diagnosis. His armpit now hurts radiating down to the elbow and up to the shoulder. They could b connected?? He's so tired all the time and unfortunately we've seen that before.

Hi , I'm Jennifer Berry, i started this page for my husband and my family. Telling our story has been hard but hopefully someone will help. We are a very caring family despite not having very much. My husband even organised a MacMillan coffee morning on the beach last year.
