I've raised £200 to Send Jenni to Nairobi to help provide health care, nutrition and education for children who live within the slums

Hi, my name is Jenni.
I have just completed my 3 year degree in London training to become a registered paediatric nurse.
My nursing goal is to provide the best possible care for all children and their families.
To complete my training I am heading to Kenya for 4 weeks in June to volunteer for a Charity called Porridge and Rice. http://www.porridgeandrice.co.uk/
This amazing charity provides nutrition, education and health and hygiene care to children and their families who live in the ‘slum’ areas of Nairobi. Everyday items such as hand wash and toothpaste, not to mention food are not readily available to these children! So Porridge and Rice make it their mission to provide them. After all better hygiene/nutrition/education = reduces risk of illness = better quality of life and more opportunities.
I am so excited to think that from next week I will be a part of this and helping to make a difference to people’s lives. I will see first-hand the lives they live, be involved in preparing food and carrying out health checks. As well as engaging in activities to bring some joy to these children.
As everything does, this costs money and being a student money is very much like a shooting star, by the time you see it it has gone! So I am asking everyone and anyone if they can spare a few bob to help me on my way I would be eternally grateful. It doesn’t need to be much, as a famous Supermarket once said “every little helps”.
Thank you so very very much xxx
