Story
Last Thursday the 31st of May I received the call I’ve been dreading since I can remember. It’s with a heavy heart I have to tell you my Mother, Jennifer Harrison Stanton has died. Her daily battle with her own mental health, and alcohol abuse proved surviving each day was her primary priority. Therefore, planning her own departure ceased to prevail. My Sister and I are now having to blindly navigate our Mother’s final journey.
We’ve decided that she would wish to be buried next to her beloved Sister Angie. This will be on the Sunday the 24th of June. We’ll keep you posted with further details.
We desperately have no other choice but to set up a funding page which we aim to have it up as soon as possible. As uncomfortable as we feel about asking for aid, Mum hasn’t left anything, nor are there any recourses we can use. After such a tumultuous life we feel it’s important that she is finally laid to rest where she will be the most at peace; with her Sister.
Any money remaining will be given to a relevant charity concerning mental health and alcohol abuse. Again, we’ll post relevant updates as applicable. However uncomfortable my Sister and I are about finally letting others into our personal lives, we cannot let our Mother’s death be in vain. We’re sharing her story not only to help put her at rest, but to raise awareness, and help others.
Peace and love to you all.
