Story
Our friend Marc was sadly diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2008 when he was just 18. Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is an uncommon condition that affects the brain and nerves. It causes weakness in the muscles that gets worse over time.
Marc is turning 30 this year and he has a young daughter (Emily,9). Marc has lost his ability to walk, he needs help getting washed, dressed, fed, watered and all other daily tasks that we take for granted. He's losing his voice and eventually he will need help to breathe. It has been physically and mentally very challenging for Marc and his young family. He struggled to deal with his diagnosis at first but has now accepted his situation and acknowledged he needs help.
We are having a Charity ball in Greenock Town Hall on the 2nd May 2020 which is going to be an amazing night, all money raised will be split 50/50 between Marc and MND Scotland.
We are also climbing Ben Nevis 18th April 2020 to raise funds to MND Scotland and also relieve the financial burden of numerous hospital visits, loss of earnings and childcare costs for marc and his family.
