Maddie is a beautiful 3 year old little girl that loves Disney movies and laughing when you fall over! She also has a rare genetic neurodisorder GNAO1, suffering seizures from 7 days old. She has hypotonia (low tone), dystonia (abnormal movements) and developmental delay. She is tube fed and non verbal (with plenty to say!). She needs positioning equipment to sit, stand and sleep and assistive technology to communicate and play. Maddie's Mum Gemma has been one of my closest friends for over 20 years now and after trying for a baby for a few years we were thrilled when she announced that Maddie was due to arrive later that year. Maddie was born and I have to say, (aside from my own children!) is the most beautiful, loveable and cheeky little lady I have ever met. I am running this marathon to fundraise for the building of a wet-room with ceiling tracking hoist to be able to bathe Maddie safely as she grows bigger and for extra equipment needed to allow Maddie to enjoy activities with her friends and family.
