Story

Monica Basinska; our friend and neighbour was excitedly awaiting the birth of her first daughter when in April 2020 at 35 weeks pregnant, Monica developed pre-eclampsia where she was rushed to Northampton General hospital. Over a period of 24 hours, Monica's condition rapidly deteriorated where she developed life-threatening Hellp syndrome. Baby was delivered via emergency c-section and thankfully very healthy. Within hours of given birth, Monica suffered a devastating stroke where her partner Greg was told that it was likely Monica was going to die. Miraculously after 5 weeks in a coma, having brain surgery, a temporary tracheotomy and hours of physiotherapy, Monica left hospital after approximately 3 months to be reunited with her partner and most importantly, 2 beautiful children.
I am kindly asking for donations, however small to help pay for private physiotherapy for Monica so that she can swiftly go for walks with her children again, play football with her son, to cradle her baby strongly and safely. To just give her the independence that was so cruelly taken away from her.
The family have taken an impact financially. I want to give something back and cannot think of a more deserving candidate to fundraise for. Thank you for taking the time to read Monica's brief story.
