I've raised £3750 to Fund an incredible expedition to Borneo with Stroud high school, to learn, support, and stretch.

In the summer of 2019 I have been given the incredible chance to travel to Borneo with my school, and take part in various activities, two projects, and a trek. Our team chose climbing Mt Kinabalu (one of the the highest mountains in Asia) in 6 days, which will really push me to my limits, and various activities from exploring and living with a native village in the rainforest for a night to experience their fantastic old culture, to cleaning out the enclosures of the incredible Bornean Orangutangs that have called it their home since before the 1700’s. More excitingly, we will be taking part in two projects- the first where we will be staying in mud huts in a rice plantation deep in the forests of Borneo, learning the lifestyle of the people who live there, talking and looking after the children, and completely expanding our horizons both physically and mentally. The second of the projects focuses on a more environmental aspect of helping the country, and we will be surveying the amount of plastic in the nearby ocean, litter picking rubbish out of the sea and off the beach, and more importantly taking trips underwater to free the marine life from plastic that we have dumped in their home.
