Story

Jenny Anderson has worked with people with a disability for over 30 years. She is a member of a dedicated team giving weekly therapeutic horse riding sessions to over 100 people of all ages .

Throughout most of her adult life Jenny, from Gullane in East Lothian, has helped to provide riding therapy, firstly as a volunteer with the Drum Group of the Riding for the Disabled Association and then as a co-founder of the Muirfield Group, now known as Muirfield Riding Therapy .

Sadly, in June 2016, Jenny suffered a life changing riding accident which has left her confined to a wheelchair. She has faced her situation bravely and is already making weekly visits to the riding therapy centre, but is very restricted in her uncomfortable manual wheelchair. After all that Jenny has given to others over the years, her friends would love to give her a present in the shape of an electric wheelchair. This will enable her to regain her independence and become an active volunteer again.

Throughout all the months of her treatment and rehabilitation Jenny has been very stoical and full of praise for the NHS, but there 300 people ahead of her on the waiting list for electric wheelchairs. Our hope is to raise £7,000 so that we can give Jenny the present she deserves as soon as possible.

Please help us to raise funds to help purchase Jenny's Wheels!
