Story

Jenson was a 2yr old boy who had been diagnosed with a brain tumour. In November 2017 he developed hydrocephalus causing pressure to build up in the brain. Whilst under going major surgery to remove the tumour he acquired a brain injury and developed Posterior fossa syndrome. He lost all his mobility and muscle tone. He could not speak, eat, walk, sit up or move his head. This syndrome can take children years to recover and no one knows if he'll regain all the mobility he had.
He was referred to a neuro rehabilitation centre called The Children's Trust in January 2018 and remained there for 4mths until May 2018. He fought hard to regain as many physical skills as possible and managed to go back to pre-school and make friends. He then suffered a devastating blow as his tumour began to grow back in 2019. He has been on weekly chemotherapy and finished his last treatment during Lockdown in July 2020.He continues to remain stable with the next scan in June. We have funded his physio, swimming lessons, horse riding, martial arts and sought the kindness of an accessible football club called Bobicats, that helps all children with mobility and neurodivergent conditions.

By publishing our book Don't Think Use Instinct we hope to raise funds for Jenson to continue the progress he is making. Our book us available on Amazon .Go straight to the link here: Don't Think Use Instinct

Jenson was nominated and won Tru Little Inspirational Hero 2022, His dedication and hard work did not go unnoticed as he then went on to win Pride of Bracknell Forest Young Persons Gold Award in April 2023.

His family have been by his side since day one. He has a brother & Sister Mason & Sophia-Rose. The great progress which has allowed him to attend a mainstream Primary School needs to continue. Jenson is standing unaided but needs more stamina to keep standing and therefore still requires 24hr care because of his uncontrolled balance and coordination.

This money will enable ongoing rehabilitation using specialist equipment to improve his chances of walking independently. Having a child with an acquired brain injury is a profound life changing experience. Balancing family life with Jensons recovery remains challenging but as a family we hope to get Jenson back on his feet so he can play football and enjoy being independent.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read our story, we appreciate your time and kindness.
