The aim of Special Friends is to offer support through friendship and shared experiences to families of children with additional needs from the early stages of their journey, with the hope that they need never feel alone.

We are a small charity doing big things and need your help!

As the mum of two children with diverse and complex needs myself, I started the group in 2014 after unsuccessfully attempting to meet other special needs families in the area.

We now have over 50 families who are all part of the wonderful thriving community that is Special Friends!

As well as our monthly playgroup sessions, we also hold regular activities for our older children, support for siblings, parents and events for the whole family.

We have made a huge impact on so many lives already and are extremely proud of the wonderful, uplifting culture that we have created in a world that is often so full of tough challenges and heartache.
