I've raised £2500 to fund a trip to South Africa to help children at the Goedgedacht Trust.

In July 2019, I will be travelling to Cape town, South Africa with a group of other students from Cowbridge Comprehensive School to work with the Goedgedacht Trust as well as the children that will be in the POP centres. I intend to distribute essential items such as toothbrushes and flannels as well as pencils and pens for the children.
To make this trip possible I am going to need all the help I can get and would be extremely grateful for any sponsorship or donations. My target includes a direct donation for the Goedgedacht Trust.
Details of my Fundraising Programme and Progress updates can be found at the bottom of the page.
Please, please sponsor me, no matter how small the amount, as it all helps.
The Goedgedacht Trust is a charity that was established in 1993. The Trust has set up a Path out of Poverty programme which aims to get children and young people, in rural communities, out of poverty by creating sustainable, safe spaces for them (POP centres). In the past the parents may have been given ‘bad wine’ as their wage from their work. This has lead to issues within the families and communities like high levels of hunger, poverty, domestic violence and Foetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder. The only escape these children have from these issues is by going to these centres where they may receive the only hot meal of their day. There are a few aims of the trip and these are:
There are a few aims of the trip and these are:
• To understand the situation that all children, especially those with FASD, in the rural communities are in.
• To help the children in the POP centres progress on their journey to adulthood by sharing our skills and knowledge with them.
• To work on the farm and help develop the facilities already on the farm e.g. olive picking and to build safe houses for the children.
• To maintain the close relationship of Cowbridge Comprehensive with the trust so we can continue to provide support in the future.
As at 06/08/2018 offline donations total approx. £480.
To raise money for this trip my family and I will be fundraising in many ways including running in several events and holding cake sales. The races include: the Newport 10k, Swansea Half Marathon, Barry Island 10k and Cardiff Half Marathon. I am hoping to run a full marathon next year (London or Newport), but need to wait until I'm 18. I may also be able to vlog the Africa trip (meaning I can film it and publish it) and I could possibly advertise for local businesses (promotional pictures / videos / tweets whilst at the Trust) in return for some sponsorship.
