Hello everyone. Our brave beautiful Sol passed away peacefully on November 4th 2019. We thank you for all of you donations, love, thoughts and messages. I have left the page open, for the next little while, for any donations still to come from any Fundraising etc. And for any donations to help my sister Ruth and family through a difficult time. It has taken this time for me to finally update this page. It has been a difficult time, and I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for all of the support over these last 4 years of Sol's illness. Sol was extremely special, loving, kind and brave. May we all carry his kindness, bravery and love always.

Hello everyone. This is a current update on Sol Barrie-Douglas. Sol has just turned 8 years old and has battled brain tumours since Feburary 2016. Sol has stage 4 brain cancer and up until recently Sol’s parents Ruth and William were able to keep sol’s tumour growth at a slow pace with various non-NHS funded treatments, diet and supplements. Unfortunately and with great sadness to us all - Sol’s tumours have began to grow again.
Sol's parents, Ruth and William, both work freelance. along with taking care of Sol they are raising his older brother Theo. It’s difficult at the best of times raising a family but the added stress and strain of Sol’s on-going medical issues has made it extremely difficult to continue life as normal. Sol is now visually impaired – and this means more intense day to day care.
It is a very difficult time – made easier by how amazing Sol is and how he has coped so brilliantly. We thank you for all of your generosity, donations, page shares, loving messages and any other forms of help and fundraising that you do.Love from the Barrie Family xxx
