My friend and I are doing a skydive in November to help raise money for the antenatal ward in the Royal Maternity hospital in Belfast. Having done an 8 week placement there we realised just how long many of the mothers are away from their partners, children and families. Many of the women can be in long term throughout their pregnancy spending weeks at a time on the ward for different reasons and a lot of the women are transferred to the Royal as it is the regional unit from all over Northern Ireland.

We noticed that a lot of the mothers on the ward didn't have items such as tablets or magazines to pass the time during their long stays.

we would like to try and raise money for the ward so as they can get something even as small as subscriptions to magazines so the mothers don't have to spend money that they may not have and if possible for more equipment for a ward which provides invaluable care for the mothers and families.
