Hospitals need books and toys in order to help make children's stay as comfortable and easy as possible. Hospitals, as much as they would like to, don't have the funds to purchase books, they rely on donations. The Royal Free Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital, Barnet Hospital and Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital have all asked for books to keep on wards and to give to children as Christmas presents. We will be raising funds to enable this.

I hate seeing children suffer. If I can help to provide a way so that a child's stay in hospital is as entertaining and comfortable as possible, I would like to do so. Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital is dear to my family's heart, having saved my sister's life. The Royal Free hospital is where my little ones were born. I want to raise funds for these hospitals to acquire books for both the hospital wards, and, to gift to the children who are in hospital over Christmas.

As soon as all the funds are raised (target deadline 30th November), I will let everyone know how much was raised and what the hospitals have been able to acquire with this funding. I will keep people up to date with how the pledge is going. If any businesses want to pledge, I can arrange for bookplates with your details to be put in the books that you have managed to purchase for the hospitals.

All money raised will go to the hospitals. It will be divided equally between the hospitals. Books will be purchased for the hospitals to place where needed (wards/waiting areas etc.) as well as giving books from 'Father Christmas' to those children who are having to stay in hospital over the holiday season.
