In Loving Memory of Joyce Diane Fletcher

18/10/1954 - 11/05/2025

We are raising funds to give Diane the dignified and loving farewell she truly deserves.

Diane was a kind, selfless soul with a heart of gold. She faced many challenges throughout her life, living with severe schizophrenia and bipolar disorder for many years. Despite the struggles, she always kept her generous spirit. In true Diane fashion, she chose to spend her money saving the donkeys and donating to any charity she saw on an advert on tv, because that was just who she was.

Four years ago, Diane was diagnosed with breast, bone, and lung cancer. Joanne, her devoted daughter, had been her carer since she was 17. Throughout Diane’s life, Joanne never asked for help and always put her mum first, even when it was incredibly difficult. Diane didn’t trust doctors and refused most help, which made caring for her even more challenging. Joanne did everything she could to support her mum, including trying to secure power of attorney, but Diane’s mental health made it nearly impossible.

Recently, Diane’s health took a turn for the worse. After years of battling cancer and dealing with severe mobility issues, she became jaundiced and weak. Although she wanted to stay at Joanne’s home on the sofa, her condition worsened, and Joanne had to make the heartbreaking decision to get her admitted to the hospital. Despite the care she received, Diane passed away just three days later.

Sadly, Joanne discovered that the four insurance policies Diane had were no longer active because Diane hadn’t kept up with payments or opened her letters. One policy, which Diane had paid for three years at £80 a month, was also canceled, leaving Joanne without the financial support she thought was there.

We are coming together as friends, family, and community to support Joanne during this difficult time. We want to make sure Diane is honored and remembered for the loving, kind person she was. Any donation, big or small, will make a difference and help give Diane the farewell she deserves.

Thank you for your kindness and support.
