Story
”Sometimes, real superheroes lie in hearts of small children fighting big battles“
Today, UK Schools are undergoing a huge transformation to become inclusive, more and mroe are becoming ASD friendly, Dyslexia friendly and Attachement aware. I am currently an Inclusion Lead in a Stoke-on-Trent school and have been lucky enough to have witnessed first hand what extra love, care and attention can do for a child with a special edcuation need. I teach Mindfulness, kindness, positive wellbeing, resilliance skills, self-regulation techniques to children who struggle to manage their own emotions and who struggle to manage their own needs.
I would like the Children of Stoke-on-Trent to be able to understand how lucky we are to feel as safe and as loved as we do in the UK and to understand the true meaning of gratitude, kindness and Self-love.
My aim is to visit a volunteer centre in Asia such as Vietnam, to support the children for at least a couple of weeks to take some pressure off full time parents and carers who have the job of caring day in and day out for the children with physical and mental dissabilities. Some of the children have been abandoned due to parents/ carers not been able to or not understanding how to support the children with their additional needs.
on returning after voluntering, I will use the skills and knowledge of my trip to educate further the children in Stoke-on-Trent about kindness, gratitude and self-love. To help them understand that the support we have Is not a world wide luxury, it is rare and we are extremely lucky.
By helping me fundraise for this trip you are helping both children abroad to have support and helping to fund children in Stoke on Trent to gain knowledge of kindness and gratitude.
Thank you for your support
(if £1000 is raised, all extra proceeds will go to the childrens centre that I visit in Asia to help with daily care of the children and to help the carers to be able to support the children to the best of their abolity)
