Story

TLDR:
I'm running a marathon to support young people getting into employment in Bournemouth.

Full blurb:
I will be running the Brighton Marathon on 7th April 2024 to fundraise for SPEAR Bournemouth! I was in the bottom set for PE at school, so running really does not come naturally to me 😂 However, running for SPEAR Bournemouth will make it slightly easier.

The award-winning Spear Programme helps young people overcome the challenges they face and build vital skills for their career, be fully prepared for the workplace and commit to long-term employment. I attend the end of programme celebrations, and am always inspired to witness the transformation in the lives of young people.

SPEAR's vision is to transform the lives of up to 90 young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area each year, giving them the support, skills and confidence they need to get into work (or re-enter education) and begin to build a future filled with hope.

Since the programme began 15 years ago in London, the Spear Programme has impacted the lives of more than 6,500 16-24 year olds. 75% of those who complete the Spear Programme not only get into work, but remain there a year later.

Here are some costs to demonstrate the value of your donation:

£15 - CV writing session for a SPEAR trainee
£17.50 - 1:1 coaching session for a SPEAR trainee

Please do donate if you can - this is a fantastic charity!

Lots of love from Jess xx

PS: This is set up on as a crowdfunder as SPEAR Bournemouth isn't set up on JustGiving! If you want to donate and claim Gift Aid, please let me know :)
