This is what the children in Reception are faced with every day...

For years now the Reception class at John Henry Newman Academy in Littlemore has had no play equipment since the old equipment was condemned and removed because it was old and unsafe. The children are at a huge disadvantage educationally since a lot of their learning is done through play and they are really limited by their outdoor learning environment.

We have quotes for sorting out the area, digging out the old dangerous concrete and metal that was left behind from the old equipment, astroturfing and building the new play equipment, but we're still a long way off being able to afford to do it. We desperately want to get the playground sorted out so that the children at this school have the best possible foundation to their education and start a positive and fun journey into learning!
