I'm raising £1000 to pay for the restoration of the font at Llandygwydd

The Medieval font at Llandygwydd is an important part of our village, as well as being a relic of our old, much loved, Church. It has been left outside for the last 25 years since the Church was taken down and it now needs our help. We have a limited time to save this treasured font. The online and paper petitions to save the font have 125 signatures. This interest has shown the amount of family christenings that have taken place there, and the affection and historical significance the font has to the local community as well as farther afield. We are hopeful to renew the Victorian base of the font as it‘s crumbling away. We also want a specialist Mason to work on restoring parts of the font that require repair. We are lucky to have such a special font in Llandygwydd. It was carved from Dundry stone in the 15th century. We cannot stand by and watch our font fall. Our wish is for future generations to visit and remember family christenings for many years to come.
